There is no better way to kick off the Christmas season than to appreciate the beauty of the sparkle and colour of Christmas lights, and there is no better place to do that than Butchart Gardens. As evidenced by the number of posts I have written on Butchart Gardens, it’s one of my favourite places to visit, and it’s especially magical during this season. Trees, gardens and pathways are lit with over 300,000 lights, in a myriad of colours and imaginative, sometimes fanciful, treatments. Seven of us went last night, and for 4 of us, it was a first visit. The weather was dry and cool, and perfect for a stroll through the wonderland. We all loved the experience and were in awe of the artists and hard work required to put on such a magical show. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

The Sunken Garden, spectacular as always.

It was a feast for the eyes, and a wonderful start to December! Thanks to Bill, Derek, Heather, John, Linda and Nicky for making it special.
Magical evening!!
