We have a bit of white stuff on the ground right now and we woke up to a cold -3˚C! Bill said ‘it’s so cold’ when he put out the garbage this morning. He is becoming a true Islander.
But the star of the show today has been the mountains. I did not expect to see them, given the snowy conditions and clouds, but they were visible in a band of clear sky under the cloud layer at a higher altitude. So we have been enjoying them all morning.
With the significant snow cover providing contrast with the sky, we can appreciate them so much more than in the summer. The snow accentuates their shapes and ridges, and provides a great show.
I finally found my longer lens on my big camera and zoomed in! Way better than the iPhone pictures I have tried to take before. Not a bad view from our living room and deck! Enjoy.
